I Have Given Up Hope

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

HopelessYep, you are the first to read it.  You can say you saw it right here on this blog post. I have finally given up hope.  It didn’t just happen today.  It’s been a long time coming.  I could sense it.  And now, I want to encourage you to give up hope as well.We simply must give up hope if we are to succeed.  How many times do people say things like, “I sure hope this works,” “I hope I get this job,” “I hope I have enough money,” “I hope things start to get better?”

These kinds of statements reflect a belief that our happiness and success in life is dependent upon someone else or something else. I’m here to say that no one is going to get you out of the mess you’ve created except you.  No one is going to magically make your goals come to pass except you. What many people call “hope” is that which keeps them from accepting responsibility and taking action.

It’s time to give up hope and take action.  Do something, even if it’s wrong.  Whatever you do will be better than sitting there hoping things will work out for the best.

I like this statement by Dr. Robert Anthony, “Once you’ve told your subconscious that you have done everything that you can do, trust it to take care of the rest…Begin by knowing that you have already arrived, that at the Being level you already have everything that you need.”

You are already a success. You are already wealthy. You are already healthy. You are already happy.

You are in control.  You and only you can choose what you want to think and what you want to believe.

The Key to Success is to Make a Lot of Mistakes

contrail.jpgDid you know that an airplane spends ninety percent of its time in error? If you were to fly from San Francisco to New York your plane would be off course about ninety percent of the time.  Yet it still makes it to New York. How is that possible?

The key to success is to realize that in life you will make a lot of mistakes. The secret is that successful people understand that life is about making CORRECTIONS. Mistakes are inevitable.  It’s the corrections that we must learn to make.

We are like the airplane.  We are often off course.  But, what’s important is not that we are off course, but whether we make the necessary corrections or not.

What keeps some people from making the correction that need to be made?

  • Blaming others for our mistakes keeps us off course.
  • Justifying our mistakes keeps us off course.
  • Being defensive about the way we do things keeps us off course.
  • Having to be right all the time keeps us off course.

Successful people are like the airplane.  They are willing to make mistakes, admit it, and then they are willing to make corrections.

I Have Become a Law of Attraction Junkie

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Law of AttractionI have become a Law of Attraction junkie, I admit it. I just can’t get enough of exploring this universal law which says that we can be, can do, and can have anything we want. We can manifest our dreams.  We can create the life we want with no limits.  God, the Creator, is our Source.  When we are in tune with Him, when we choose what it is that we want, when we focus upon it, and when we take inspired action, all that we want comes into reality.  We have it already.

Listen to the Voice from Within

Are you seeking guidance in a specific area of your life?  You already have the answer if you will listen to the voice within.  Are you struggling with reaching your goals?  Are obstacles confronting you?  You may be looking for the answer in the wrong place.  In fact, you probably already know the solution.

Consider these ideas:

1. You will always be attracted to the situation or person you need, at any given moment, in order to learn the lesson you need to learn.

2. The only thing keeping you from being, doing, or having what you want is YOU.

3. If you are facing an obstacle that is keeping you from what you want, the cause of that obstacle will be revealed to you as well as the solution.

4. Whatever you need to know in order to get to where you want to go will be revealed to you.  Listen to the voice from within.  The way will be shown to you.

What if you don’t believe in the Law of Attraction?  What if you don’t believe the truths listed above?  Then you will get exactly what you believe.  Your thoughts will attract your outcome.  But, hey, that IS the Law of Attraction.  You can’t escape it.  Why would you want to?

Trying to Succeed? Then Give Up Everything You Know

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

SurrenderI read something this morning that blew my mind. OK, I know that expression dates me. But you need to hear this truth too. It just may be the key to help you reach your goals, or achieve wealth and happiness.

Have you ever noticed that we tend to approach our goals or our problems in the same way we’ve been approaching them for years? Well, here’s the truth that blew my mind:

“Once you’ve established where you want to go, you have to give up everything you know about getting there.”*

God, the Universe, Creative Intelligence (whatever you want to call It), knows the perfect way to bring about all our desires. Once we give up our old beliefs about how things must work, we will receive the guidance we need.

Remember the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. Well, when we give up the way things should be, we are then open to inspired nudges about what to do, who to meet, and where to go.

Once we have made the BIG decision about what we WANT, our subconscious mind will work out the HOW. It’s said that Einstein’s idea of relativity came to him when he was sick in bed. Our ideas will come to us any the time we are open, responsive and ready for them to come.

Remember the expression, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

You may be facing some obstacles in your life right now. Just remember that your desire, your goal is greater than any obstacle you may face at this moment.  Even the obstacle will ultimately serve your purpose in getting where you want to go.

(The quote above is from Beyond Positive Thinking by Dr. Robert Anthony.  Some have asked why I am referring so much to this one book.  I am currently studying this book little by little each morning.  I jot down some quotes, insights, and my thoughts about what I’m reading.  Then I turn it into a post. When I finish this book, I’ll do it again with another. These posts are found in the category: Dan’s Journal.)

The Way to Get There is to Know You’ve Already Arrived

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Mount EverestRecently I wrote a post entitled, “You Can’t Get to the Right Place by Going the Wrong Way.”  It was inspired by something my wife saw as she was out and about. She passed by the southbound entrance to the Interstate and noticed a bum holding a sign saying, “Georgia.”  Problem is, Georgia was North, not South. A few hours later she saw the bum again, he had realized his mistake and was now standing at the northbound entrance.

Well, today I came across this quote by Jonathan Livingston Seagull,

“The way to get there is to know you’ve already arrived.”

Many of us are attempting to apply the Law of Attraction in our lives. For some it comes natural, for others it is a learning experiment.  Simply put the LOA says that you can be, do, or have anything you want.  Just decide what you want, focus on it, take inspired action, and release it without expectation.

One key to living your life this way is learning to accept at a subconscious level that we ALREADY have what we want.  It sounds like a paradox and it is.  We must accept that we have something before we CAN have it.  It is our acceptance, our belief, our faith, that brings it to pass.

Another key is to let go, to release it without expectations.  Too many times we have expectations of just HOW the thing we want is going to come to us.  Just accept that what you want is already yours.  Remember, whatever you want wants you.
